Summary of Research

Question

This study seeks to answer the following questions:

• What motivated mentors to participate in Hack for LA's mentorship program?
• What is the perceived impact of the Hack for LA mentorship program on mentors and interns?
• What are best practices related to mentorship of interns?
• What barriers and facilitators to the success of the program?
• How satisfied were mentors with the program?
• What recommendations do mentors have for program improvement?

Purpose

The purpose of this study is to gather feedback from Hack for LA mentors about their mentorship experience so as to inform Hack for LA program improvement, planning, fundraising, and marketing.

• Semi-structured qualitative interviews will be conducted with Hack for LA mentors.
• Rapid qualitative methods will be used to analyze collected interview data.
