This is large but not 5k lines large, 3.5k is autogenerated code. That being said there are foundational changes. One of the major ones is to separate serialization format from logical format. IE TimeSeriesBinary is a serialization format and types.Metric is a logical format. Ideally the two should not bleed into each other.
