What would be the best way for keep up with new releases

Hello,

I am in the process of setting up a project for myself and potential calibration with others too.
Maybe its a very basic question, but its important for me and your time and help is really appreciated,

I will use git to keep up with my work, and I will track the files that I add, but my question is should I also track mujoco files too?
One answer that I get from myself is yes, I should keep track of them too, but then problem if a new release has file structure change then I might need to redo some restructuring too maybe manually.

Any ideas or suggestions, please!
