It is compatible with EVERY voicemail system and works by generating a sound file, dialing into your voicemail system as you, and playing this file which reprograms your outgoing message.
First a call script is generated, then this is processed into a single audio file, then this file is played on a phone call to your voicemail system.
Prerequisites include:
text2wave
for *NIX ORsay
for Macsox
command (brew install sox
)sipcmp
(please help with install instructions!)- php, perl and other script interpreters (needed to run all the examples)
A speech script is used to customize text which will be read by a synthesized voice on your outgoing message. You can use scripts in any language to generate this file. Some examples are included, please share your own scripts with a pull request!
A dialing script is used to access voicemail system, enter your PIN, and navigate to the "change outgoing message" menu.
This stitches together DTMF tones and synthesized speech as specified by your call script. The output is a single audio file.
The single audio file above is played into a phone call for your voicemail system. After playback, your outgoing voice message is updated. This process should be run using a cron
job on your computer so as to continuously update your outgoing message.
