Sonic Design 2022

Author: Sebastian Fongen Langslet & Cagri Erdem

Folder name: 2022/sonicdesign2022

Event website: https://www.uio.no/ritmo/english/projects/self-playing-guitars/events/2022/sonic-design/index.html

Information:

This patch was made for the International Seminar on Sonic Design, which took place at ZEB, May 5th 2022. The concept this time employs a more minimalistic approach to interactivity, only using the microphone and only playing for a couple of seconds when triggered. Otherwise, the guitars stay quiet, as not to take too much space. The guitars were hanging in the hallway, where people were socialising between presentations.

Future use:

It would be fun to try this patch with different samples, different randomised pitches and different kind of triggers. The interaction with the microphone works well in this patch, although the envelope could probably use some work. Right now the envelope will re-trigger every time there's a loud percussive sound. You could probably edit this to not re-trigger a second envelope before the first envelope is done.

IR test

Author: Sebastian Fongen Langslet & Cagri Erdem

Folder name: other/IR_test

Event website: none

Information:

This patch is used to test the IR proximity cameras in the Bela IDE oscilloscope. It's using the four different dac~ outputs that the oscilloscope uses.

Connecting the IR Proximity camera directly to the BELA chip.

Future use:

This is primarily used for testing. The code can be easily copied to be used in another iteration. As of right now we can't get a connection between the IR Proximity Camera and the BELA using the Interactive Guitar Chip v1.0, but this is planned for the near future.
