Summary of Changes

Hello @ncooke3, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request systematically removes all traces of CocoaPods dependency management from the repository. It updates the core Gemfile and all quickstart documentation to reflect this change, guiding users to a simpler setup process by directly opening Xcode project files. Furthermore, a specific SwiftUI example project has been fully migrated to use Swift Package Manager for its Firebase dependencies, streamlining its build configuration.

Highlights

  • CocoaPods Removal: The Gemfile has been updated to remove cocoapods and cocoapods-core gems, indicating a complete deprecation of CocoaPods as a dependency management tool within the project.
  • Documentation Updates: All relevant README.md files across various quickstart examples have been modified to remove instructions for pod install and opening .xcworkspace files, now directing users to open .xcodeproj files directly.
  • Swift Package Manager Migration: The swiftui/PasswordlessSwiftUI project has been migrated from CocoaPods to Swift Package Manager (SPM), with FirebaseAuth now integrated via an XCRemoteSwiftPackageReference.
  • Script Removal: Obsolete prerequisite installation scripts, mlmodelinterpreter.sh and mlvision.sh, have been removed from the scripts/install_prereqs directory.

Code Review

This pull request does a great job of removing CocoaPods references from the project and documentation, migrating towards Swift Package Manager. The changes are consistent across multiple README files and project configurations. I've pointed out one file where some CocoaPods references were missed in the documentation. Once that's addressed, this will be a solid improvement for project maintainability and developer experience.
