Hi 👋 Welcome to my profile

I'm Fernando, and I work the tech side in humanity-based projects at Lima/Peru helping non-tech people to map/contribute to their ideas to preserve its core in the development process, with my part humanities, part engineering, part arts background (I'm an engineer born within a family of art and humanities). From a tech standpoint, I've worked in network security, pen-testing, mobile full-stack and AR/VR, and I'm proficient in the complete process from conceptualization to developing and deploying it to the Mobile Store, or K8s, also leading/teaching teams into doing it. I work for my passions, and usually, I get obsessed with it, like a painter would do. That passion is the biggest sign of my work.

Some of the projects I'm involved

  • As Lead Team member in @Lateral, Finalists in Entrepreneurship World Cup 2022. We aim to rehumanize thinking.
    • Senior Software/DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer
  • As Tech Lead in @LabXR, we promote literacy of emerging techs. We are mainly a group of humanist's that have learn to make/teach things, usually for other humanists!
    • Tech Lead and Senior Developer in Pluriverses, an AR Volumetric Video Mobile App.
    • Tech Lead and Senior Developer in BomberosVR, an Ultra-Low-Cost app for Rural Peruvian Voluntary Firefighters to train in VR emergency situation handling. Waiting to make it OSS.

More stuff about me

Some of my passions (and searching projects with it are)

  1. Democratization and decentralisation of tech in communities without the option to use it.
  2. The rawest possible data collection as a way of memory
  3. The impact of tech on local nature and culture
  4. How to reinclude excluded people (victims of abuse or neurodivergents)

About my motivations

I choose the projects I’m in for its mission, an impact in my communities, from more broad to my most intimate circle; but having fun, entering the same state as while improvising in piano, and fulfilling my curiosity are other very major things that drives me to contribute to something.

Things I'm learning now

Some of my skills are

Dart TypeScript JavaScript Python Go HTML5 CSS3 MongoDB Firebase GraphQL NodeJS Express PostgreSQL Flutter Illustrator Figma Sketch

Currently working for the pleasure of it in

My "comfort" project

Since 2018 I've self-hosted my own infrastructure (a NAS, an RPI 1B, an OPI PC) to host personal services like N8N, Pterodactyl or FreshRSS. That project has expanded so much that has transformed from my own small little garden, to like a park for me and my friends to enjoy. Also, recently I've made public the GitOps manifests from my K8s cluster, but I will be expanding the repository and its documentation as I get more time. Due to the lack of ARM64 docker images for some self-hosting projects, a lot of the repos in my profile are contributions for the docker build for that architecture.

I'm open to hearing any word you have, from a question, or an advice, to a proposal. I'm always looking for new friends, especially if they are interested in social impact projects, Self-Hosting, or mixing art/performance with tech.

If you get this far 🌟
