I took a stab at this but overall it seems like there were a lot of breaking changes in Eslint 8 -> 9 that other packages haven't caught up with, particularly react native. Putting this up so we have it in history as an example but I think for now the best approach is to have Dependabot ignore eslint 9 until it is more supported
