Lexy's Labyrinth is its own game, which simply happens to have exactly the same mechanics as Chip's Challenge. As such, some of its objects are different — sometimes for flavor, sometimes for comprehensibility.
Many tiles are very similar to those you might find in Chip's Challenge; there are, after all, only so many ways to depict railroad tracks. The major differences are as follows.
MSCC | CC2 | CC name | LL | LL name | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Chip | ![]() |
Lexy | This is Lexy, the fox. It's her labyrinth. | ||
Melinda | ![]() |
Cerise | This is Cerise, a bunny (sort of) and Lexy's girlfriend. | ||
computer chip | ![]() |
heart | |||
chip socket | ![]() |
heart gate | |||
male-only sign | ![]() |
no bunnies sign | Lexy and Cerise are both girls, so gendered signs don't make much sense. This also better conveys that only Cerise is barred; blocks and monsters can also pass. | ||
female-only sign | ![]() |
no foxes sign | Same idea but for Lexy. | ||
bomb | ![]() |
mine | A lit bomb looks like it should detonate on its own. A mine better conveys that it detonates when touched. | ||
time bomb | ![]() |
time bomb | Dynamite suggests something that can be set off from afar, but this item counts down with a timer. So in LL, this is the bomb. Apologies for the confusion. | ||
walker | ![]() |
molecule | I don't know what a "walker" is, but I always thought the MSCC ones looked like giant molecules, and that's not far off from how they behave. | ||
flippers | ![]() |
mermaid tail | This is obviously better. | ||
lightning bolt | ![]() |
lightning boots | These activate wires while you're in contact with the floor, so they seem to be begging to be footwear. | ||
bonus flags | /tiles/bonus-100.png | bonus candies | Lexy loves candy, what can I say. | ||
turtle | ![]() |
lilypad | These sink after being stepped on, which seems rather unkind to do to turtles, and lilypads are a more familiar visual symbol. | ||
secret eye | ![]() |
x-ray specs | A missed opportunity. | ||
trap | ![]() |
trap | The CC2 trap changes graphics to show whether it's open or closed, but the way it does so is very counter-intuitive to me. A pitfall trap, where the floor raises up to indicate free passage, seemed much more straightforward. |
