Clicker

Clicker is an app for counting things. More than once have I wanted to have one of those handheld metal clickers to track anything from the number of Priuses in a single day to the number of times I see a guy leave a bar and immediately trip on a Friday night. But who owns one of those besides someone who has counting as a job, and even if you have one, why carry it all the time? Clicker aims to alleviate the "WHY DON'T I OWN THIS" feeling while also providing some features that the analog version might lack.

It's not quite pretty enough for distribution on the Play Store quite yet. Function, then form. Then publishing!

Features:

  • Count as many different items as you like
  • Set a starting value and a goal, if desired
  • Views for only incrementing, only decrementing, or both
  • The ability to make batch increments (I saw 27 ducks at once! +27)
  • Logging timestamp of clicks
  • Logging GPS location of clicks (optional)
  • Viewing clicks on a map
  • Viewing a history of clicks
  • Phone and tablet layout support

Futures:

  • Export to CSV
  • Full-screen buttons - for when you need to control your values but lack finger accuracy
  • Viewing trends as graphs
  • Visual cleanup (beautified buttons, cleaned list items, etc)
  • Android Wear support - why should you have to take our your whole phone to increment your Clicker?
  • Google Glass support

Notes

  • Tests on physical devices limited to LG G4 and Nexus 7 (2013).
