Welcome to the TEAM wiki!

Current development work is applied in a dedicated development branch. Please check this page to understand impacts.

Intent and functionality

The main intent of TEAM is to provide a user interface to limit the data entry requirements for ETL generation.

TEAM captures both all metadata that is required for ETL generation and DWH automation, but also focuses on providing ways to only be required to manually enter the content that can only be provided through information modelling efforts (as opposed to retrieving details based on conventions).

To support the above, various data entry controls and validation mechanisms are applied - so that fit for purpose metadata can be provided to any ETL / DWH automation engine.

Specific functions are:

  • Connectivity settings and configuration including opening and saving to file.
  • Metadata management (grid, mapping Source-to-Target Mapping - STM)
  • Activation and validation of metadata (checking and pushing into target DV generation data model)
  • Repository creation
  • Graph engine to design systems at a higher level of abstraction
  • Physical model versioning and reverse-engineering, to enable virtualisation
  • Test data generator (also to support RI check, but that's in the virtualisation)
  • Source system register (NOT DEVELOPED YET)

Data Model

The data model was previously available in QuickDBM, but after pricing model changes this was moved to SQLDBM.
