Ways to get involved

There are many different ways in which you can contribute to URLFrontier and not all of them require advanced programming skills. Here are a few examples:
- Give URLFrontier a try and let us know in the discussions section if something is not clear. A simple set of commands will do, to begin with, using the client.
- Tell your friends and family about it, or more realistically, your local tech meetup. You never know but someone might find it interesting.
- You have a UX / graphic / web design background? We could do with a simple one-page website, ideally, one which can be hosted on GitHub and with the code in a branch of our repo. You don't need to understand the finer details of how URLFrontier works, just what it does in general.
- The documentation is something that can always be improved.
- Experienced in web crawlers? Great! What about having a go at integrating URLFrontier with your favourite crawler? For instance, take Scrapy and make it talk to URLFrontier.
- If you have spare time and hardware, benchmark it or look for bugs.
- For the more advanced devs looking for a challenge, look at the current implementation of the service and see if you can make things better, possibly using a different back-end.
- Unused servers in your organisation? We'd be happy to use them!
- Financial support is always appreciated and allows us to work on new features.
Regardless of how you think you might be able to contribute, feel free to get in touch.
