v1.14.0 - SPEEEEEEED
Mostly performance upgrades in this release.
- Quicktake for Apple II : The Quicktake 100 decoder now takes 50 seconds to decode a picture. The Quicktake 200 decoder gets a boost (from 6'40 to 4'40), and the Quicktake 150 decoder gets a bit of performance improvement, and further image processing (scaling, dithering) is faster by about 33% too.
- Mastodon for Apple II : the program now talks with the proxy at 115200bps, an 8-fold improvement that is especially useful when viewing images.
- STP, the FTP-over-serial client, gets the same improvement.
Note: This release requires a surl-server upgrade to Protocol 8. In case of a deb-based installation, be sure to update the speed setting in /etc/a2tools/tty.conf to baudrate: 115200
.
Note 2: The unenhanced-Apple-II Mastodon client can also benefit from this speed upgrade. For Apple ][e Super Serial Cards, a jumper configuration change may be necessary on the card (SW1: 1111111 ; SW2: 1111010). If this is impractical, you can also reconfigure the Mastodon client when it fails to reach the proxy, using the C
key.
