A basic newsletter app for the Django webframework
--------------------------------------------------

* Please see the documentation in the docs folder.

Quick install guide
--------------------------------------------------

1. Install django-campaign with ``pip``::

    pip install -e git://github.com/chielteuben/django-campaign.git#egg=django-campaign

2. Add ``campaign`` to your ``INSTALLED_APPS`` setting::

    INSTALLED_APPS = (
        ...
        'campaign',
        ...
    )

3. Add an entry to your URL-conf. Using ``campaign`` here is a matter of taste,
   feel free to mount the app under a different URL::

    urlpatterns += patterns('',
        (r'^campaign/', include('campaign.urls'))
    )

4. Then run ``manage.py syncdb`` to create the neccessary database tables.

Example: Setting up a campaign for mailing the users
existing in the Django auth_user table
--------------------------------------------------

1. Navigate to the Django admin interface / Campaign

2. Add a subscriber list
   Name: anything you want
   Content type: user
   Filter condition: {"is_active": true}
   Exclude condition: {"is_staff": true}
   Email-Field name: email

3. Add a mail template
   Name: anything you want
   Plaintext Body: anything you want (you can reference the 'recipient' object, which is the 'Content type' you chose at the subscriber list)
   HTML Body: optional, same as above
   Subject: the subject
   Content type: optional, reference a different 'Content type'

4. Add a campaign
   Name: anything you want
   Template: the template we created at step 3
   Content Object: n/a
   Available online: optional
   Subscriber lists: the subscriber list you created at step 1

5. After saving click on 'Send' at the top of the campaign you just created
