This software is to be used for creating and sharing server information for Cloud3DView, an interactive tool for data center operations.
This document will guide you through the day-to-day use of this software, including server information creation, management, and sharing.
After launching the software, the first thing you need to do is to login the system with your username and password.
- You can enter your username and password in the indicated text field as shown in Figure 1.
- Click the “Login” button to login.
The login process may take a while.
- If login is successful, you will be directed to main menu as shown in Figure 2.
- If login is unsuccessful, there will be a message indicating the reason.
To create your own server information
- Click the “Upload Server” button in the main menu as shown in Figure 2.
- A file explorer window will pop up for you to choose a 3D model file of the server as shown in Figure 3. The following model formats are allowed:
- .FBX
- .OBJ
- Use mouse to select the file to choose.
- Select “Choose” button to go to step 5. Or select “Close” to close the file explorer window to go back to main menu.
- A scene displaying the 3D model selected and a server information form will be shown as shown in Figure 4. You can rotate the server model using the left mouse button. You also need to fill in the server information form. Click “Submit” button to submit the 3D model and the server information to cloud. Or select “Back” button to go back to step 2.
- An upload progress bar will be shown to indicate the process of uploading the 3D model and the file information.
- You will be directed back to the main menu when the upload process is finished.
To Manage your own server information
- Click the “Manage Models” button in the main menu.
- A list of your server information will be shown as shown in Figure 6. Click on any of them to go the step 3. Or click “Back” button to go back to main menu.
- A scene displaying the 3D model selected and a server information form will be shown as shown in Figure 4. You can rotate the server model using the left mouse button. You can view and edit the server information as well.
- Click “Submit” button to update the 3D model and the server information in cloud. Or select “Back” button to go back to step 2.
- An upload progress bar will be shown to indicate the process of uploading the 3D model and the file information.
- You will be directed back to the main menu when the upload process is finished.
To View Server Information in Cloud
- Click the “Models in Cloud” button in the main menu.
- A list of server information currently in cloud will be shown as shown in Figure 7. Click on any of them to go the step 3. Or click “Back” button to go back to main menu.
- A scene displaying the 3D model selected and a server information form will be shown as shown in Figure 8. You can rotate the server model using the left mouse button. You can view the server information as well. You can add the server information into your own collection by clicking “Add To Mine” button. Or click “Back” to go back to step 2.
To logout the software
- Click the “Logout” button in main menu.
- You will be directed to Login scene.
