A Google Chrome extension that uses DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) to check the DNSSEC status for each domain you visit.
Each time you visit a new domain, this extension makes up to two DNS queries to your preferred DoH server to determine the DNSSEC status of that domain.
The DoH server can be a public service like dns.google
, or locally hosted on the same machine.
The status of each domain is indicated by the color of the extension icon as described below.
First, download and build the extension:
git clone https://github.com/TrevinAvery/DNSSEC-Indicator.git
cd DNSSEC-Indicator
npm install
npm run prod
Second, install the unpacked extension into Chrome:
- Open the Extension Management page by navigating to chrome://extensions
- Enable Developer Mode by clicking the toggle switch next to Developer mode
- Click the Load unpacked button and select the
DNSSEC-Indicator/dist
directory
You should now see the extension icon listed in the extensions drop down. You may wish to pin it to the URL bar for easy access.
