This diff applies cleanly to master#12172a4 (April 20th, 2018 or around that.) Does not do so to current master because of recent changes in paid_witnessing.js.
If I understand the blocking changes correctly and the idea is to get rid of "LEFT JOIN unit_authors" in SQL request, you will need to do it in graph.js instead.
New code in paid_witnessing.js is optimized better in golang version. You may want to take a look at that.
