This exposes the information required for issue #2.
This addresses the issue that not all cached memory can actually be freed by the system, which can lead to underestimating the amount of actually used memory. Closes #2.
Since implementing issue #2 we no longer require code to read the free and cached memory from /proc/meminfo.
