Umbra is a space technology company that provides commercial Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images. They publish a large set of SAR images available through their Open Data Program.
However, it is hard to find relevant SAR images in the dataset because of limited search functionality.
This project creates a daily updated KML file for Google Earth that show the footprints of the publicly available SAR images, including their names and dates of capture. Each footprint also includes a direct link to the folder that contains the SAR images for direct download.
Two KML files are available:
-
Umbra-Open-Data-Tracker.kml (recommended) - This file automatically links to the latest data available to stay up-to-date. Works with Google Earth Pro. Internet connection required.
-
footprints.kml - This file is current at the date of download, but will not update automatically. Works with Google Earth Web and Pro. No internet connection required.
