VU Repeater database for Chirp software. Download the file VU-Repeaters-master.csv(right click on the link and choose Save link as.. Change the file type from txt to * and rename with extention .csv). After opening in Excel, delete the rows that are not required. The list is ordered state wise. Text filter can also applied to the "Comment" column like "[KL]". Save the file in the same CSV format.

Instructions:

  1. Install Chirp software from chirp.danplanet.com
  2. Run Chirp and open the repeater database file (VU-Repeaters-master.csv)
  3. You may retain only the entries that you are interested/relevent to your qth or area of operation. For this, select the unwanted entries and delete it. Ensure that you right click on the entry and choose Delete - > and shift all memories up...
  4. Once finalized, save to a local file or program to the Radio

Homebrew Antenna

Slim Jim VHF Antenna

A simple and cost effective antenna that can be made in a weekend. Poor Mans Slim Jim ant.pdf

I suggest using RG58 cable if the length is less than 20ft, else use HLF400. Both are easily available and inexpensive.
