What is Retroboot ?

Retroboot is custom set of emulators of retro video game consoles, and computers based on source code of libretro's RetroArch project. The build is developed by genderbent and KMFDManic. Basically, Retroboot is a set of emulation cores for other consoles like SNES, NES, Gameboy, Atari etc. with RetroArch-GUI and special scripts developed by genderbent to make this software run well on Playstation Classic.

What other consoles are tested to work ??

Many.. but some small subset of them need to have a BIOS file from original console, or the overal performance makes games unplayable. Due to copyright licences BIOS files can not be distributed with AutoBleem.

Tested to work with Retroboot 0.9+ and AutoBleem:

  • Atari 2600
  • Atari 5200 (needs BIOS)
  • Atari 7800 (needs BIOS)
  • Atari Lynx
  • Bandai Wonderswan / Color
  • CollecoVision (needs BIOS)
  • Intellivision (needs BIOS)
  • DOS / DOSBox (very slow - roughly 286 era)
  • NEC PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 / SuperGrafx (may need BIOS)
  • Nintendo GameBoy /GameBoy Color /GameBoy Advance
  • Nintendo Virtual Boy
  • Nintendo Entertainment System
  • Super Nintendo Entertainment System
  • Sega Megadrive/Genesis/MegaCD
  • Sega Dreamcast (needs BIOS) NOTE: ONLY SUBSET OF GAMES due to lack of performance in CPU
  • Sega Saturn (needs BIOS) NOTE: VERY POOR PERFORMANCE - not recommended
  • Sony PSP (needs additional assets - mixed performance)
  • NeoGeo Arcade patforms (needs BIOS)
  • MAME arcade platforms (needs BIOS)
