Getting Started

Let's dive right in! Follow these steps to get started:

  1. Clone the repository from GitHub.
  2. Navigate to the project directory.
  3. Install the dependencies with:
npm install
  1. Create a .env.local file in the root directory and add your environment variables. Refer to the Clerk documentation for setting up Clerk for authentication.

  2. Start the development server:

npm run dev

Authentication

Users have the ability to upload profile images, powered by Node.js and the convenient Multer library. Images are seamlessly stored in MongoDB as part of user profiles. 📷

MongoDB serves as our trusted database. To set up your database connection, simply add your MongoDB connection string to the .env.local file.

User Profiles

User profiles are a fundamental aspect of Threads. They include user information such as username, name, bio, and profile images. This data is stored in MongoDB and fetched when users log in. 🧑📌 Image Upload

Activities

Search

Users can search for other profiles and even search for profiles.🔔 Image Upload

Thread Creation

Empower users to create threads seamlessly. We utilize Mongoose for modeling and storing thread data in MongoDB. 🧵📝 Image Upload

Communities

Communities play a vital role in the Threads app. We plan to enhance our project by adding community functionality, allowing users to create and join communities. 🏘️

Deployment

We've got you covered when it comes to deployment! Our project is deployed using Vercel. This ensures your Threads clone is accessible online, enabling users to experience your app from anywhere. 🌐🚀
