## Pots and pans

### Stainless Steel

Quite some time ago I settled to use the brand _Demeyere_ for stainless steel pots and pans. I own the following:

- Demeyere Proline 7 frying pan in 28 cm (22 cm bottom diameter)
- Demeyere Atlantis conical sauté pan, 20 cm (14 cm bottom diameter)
- Demeyere Atlantis saucepan, 14 cm

I also used to have a conical sauté pan in 14 cm, but due to its conical nature, this was way too small. I might want to add one with 18 cm though. I also would like to augment the collection with a 24 cm Proline.

I ordered all of them via [](https://betterkitchen.de/).

#### Demeyere Proline vs. Atlantis {collapsible="true"}

Note that the Proline is only available for frying pans, while the Atlantis line for other cookware equals in design. Here’s an answer I got from the Zwilling customer support via e-mail in 2020:

### Non-stick

Non-stick to me is kind of a throwaway-article, so I think it doesn’t make sense to "BIFL" (buy it for life). I’ve waited for Amazon deals and now own:

- Tefal E85602 Jamie Oliver 20 cm
- Tefal E3040444 Jamie Oliver 24 cm

#### Recoating

I discovered [a service](https://pfannenbeschichtung.de) that offers recoatings for non-stick pans. I gave it a try and was really satisfied with the optics; I need to find out how cooking works though. I might buy more expensive pans in the future and just consider recoating them, therefore not regarding non-stick pans as throaway.

### Iron pans, forged

I own two sizes of the Series 652 from the company Turk.

### Cast iron

At home I don’t quite use cast iron, I have some skillets from Petromax and Lodge though.

### Dutch Ovens

I distinct between Dutch ovens for home/stove use (a.k.a. _cocotte_ or _casserole dish_), and bbq/fireplace use.

- For home, I own a Staub 22 cm / 2,6l round casserole ([Amazon](https://a.co/d/f27sAoF))
- For the fireplace, I have more than I’m willing to admit from the Petromax brand, in all sizes and with or without feet.
