Scala
Scala is a modern multi-paradigm programming language. Scala stands for Scalable Language. It is a hybrid functional programming language. It has features of both object-oriented and functional languages. Scala is compiled to run on the Java Virtual Machine.
In this repository you can find simple scala programs which can be helpful for beginners.
Following are the steps to install scala on MacOS :
1.You should have java installed on your machine.
1.1 Check if java is installed already by running following command in terminal:
$ java -version
If you see an output like below then Java is already installed on your machine.
java version "1.8.0_45"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_45-b14)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.45-b02, mixed mode)
1.2 If you don't see the output like above then you need to install Java on your system.
Please download the OS X version from the Oracle website(http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html )

You can use Homebrew installer.
2.1 If you already have homebrew installed then follow the following steps:
- run following command in terminal: $ brew update - Next install scala by running following command in terminal: $ brew install scala
2.2 If you don't have homebrew installed then follow the following steps:
- First make sure you have xcode installed(its free in the Mac App Store). - Next install homebrew by running following command in terminal: $ ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)" - Next install scala by running following command in terminal: $ brew install scala
