Repozitář slouží k dokumentaci Databáze mrtvých webových zdrojů. Tato specializovaná veřejná databáze zobrazuje ve strukturované formě údaje o zaniklých webových zdrojích archivovaných Webarchivem Národní knihovny ČR. Databáze je integrovaná do kurátorské aplikace Seeder a zobrazuje údaje získané prostřednictvím aplikace Extinct Websites. Informace o webových zdrojích, které jsou aplikací Extinct Websites identifikovány jako mrtvé, jsou prostřednictvím API přenášeny do Seederu a prostřednictvím Databáze mrtvých webových zdrojů interpretovány veřejnosti. Cílem databáze je podat zprávu o zanikajícím webovém obsahu prostřednictvím statistik, z nichž si bude možné udělat představu o trendech v průběhu času.

Databáze je realizována v rámci institucionálního výzkumu Národní knihovny České republiky financovaného Ministerstvem kultury ČR v rámci Dlouhodobého koncepčního rozvoje výzkumné organizace.
The repository is intended for documentation of the Dead Web Resources Database. This specialised public database displays in a structured form data about extinct web resources archived by the Webarchive of the National Library of the Czech Republic. The database is integrated into the curatorial application Seeder and displays data obtained through the Extinct Websites Application. Information about web resources that are identified as dead by Extinct Websites is transferred to Seeder via API and interpreted to the public via the Dead Web Resources Database. The goal of the database is to report on defunct web content through statistics from which trends over time can be gleaned.

The database is implemented within the institutional research of the National Library of the Czech Republic funded by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic within the framework of the Long-term conceptual development of the research organization.
