The current Chinese short name local is the (quite common) Zhōnghuá - 中华 ("central beauty"), but I suggest changing it to the more neutral and even more common Zhōngguó - 中国 ("central state"). For more information regarding this matter I would say it is also reliable to conduct Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Names_of_China
