Data flows on a stack from one word to the next and in most cases there is no need for temporary variables. Not only this leads to very good code density but it also simplifies testing. Forth is a "low level" language that offers a high level of abstraction: even words for control structures like `IF ... THEN` are just immediately interpreted Forth words.
