No easy way to get all version information and status information for debugging

I had some challenges getting a correct GPS fix with the active antenna. Still takes some minutes to get a fix but it is working. I noticed that the underlying GPS chip has several options to get firmware/hardware versions, status information, etc. Would help debugging is there is some method available to which we can pass a Stream that retrieves all version info and statuses logs these.
