Welcome to the Bootless Star project wiki!

What is Bootless Star?

Bootless Star is a program that creates an environment for the modules to execute their specific instructions. This program was intended to allow all modules to run and carry executions with minimal user interaction in mind, thus it is plausible for plugins to execute with absolutely no user action – if coded to do so. Bootless Star does not configure the system in anyway, but merely checks the host system for what programs are available and their directory locations. Such or any changes that might be made will be based upon the modules being executed into the environment.

Supported Project Modules

Within this project, it comes bundled with a few already-to-go modules to perform specific tasks. Although these modules are considered to be supported, it does not mean that those are the only modules allowed to be executed within the program. Thus, other users - regardless of experience - can freely create their own modules (please adhere to my requests in the Legal.txt provided in the source\core\Documents)

DeLorean

The DeLorean is a simple backup program that will take an image of the user's home directory and store it into it's internal database which can be pushed onto another filesystem if necessary. Restoring is also possible, although, the contents being extracted from within the backup database is merely stored onto a different directory which from there the user can do as he or she wishes with the data -- no data changes will be done and no files will be mistakenly over written with the user's personal data stored in the Home directory.

Doom Builder 2

This module is a very complexed, yet customizable, front-end compiler script for the Doom Builder 2 project. It is now possible for any user to simply compile the project with very little interaction and most of all - little to no stress on their part. The user can be able to easily compile just the core program itself, or compile just the supported plugins with the core program, or compile everything! In addition, this program will try to organize the project's local working copy by Updating it and thrashing modified data files (which can occur when compiling). This was designed to keep the compile process as easy as possible, but yet - very customizable.
