Men's Salon by André D'Avis is an upscale salon that catered to high-profile men. They perform haircuts, shaves, massages, and more.
This website was built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Many of the decisions that we put into this website were made to give it an upscale, almost exclusive feel. The themes are dark and sophisticated, with the website itself retaining a smaller profile. We included only a few web pages, electing instead to group information and link to the specific IDs. This keeps the information organized and easy to find.
We wanted to build a website that was fairly simple in structure yet big in language. You'll notice that André D'Avis never refers to itself in the third person, and often the staff are called "specialists" and the customers are called "patrons". This was to enhance the air of confidence and class provided by the project.
If we had more time, we would create a login with a member's only zone. In addition, we would include members pricing on the services page.
We would design a logo for the business and place it on the header for each page, in addition to testing some subtle animations to see if they would increase the value of the website.
Finally, we could add another page for the portfolio, consisting of headshot photos to advertise haircuts.
This was a fun front-end project. Our workflow is clearly improving. A few minor formatting issues came up, such as with the tables, but were easily addressed in CSS.
