The Repast Development Team is happy to announce the release of Repast Simphony 2.8. This release contains some new features and bug fixes. Key highlights are:

  • Repast Simphony is now compatible with Eclipse IDE 2020-06 and Java 11 LTS
  • Updated OpenGL and Java3D (3D display now universally supported on Java 11)
  • Updated 3D GIS visualization to use Worldwind V2.2
  • Context query architecture is now marked as deprecated in favor of Java’s Streaming API for improved performance
  • Updated documentation
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes (thanks goes to the dedicated user reporting of issues!)
