Some of us hack on Python projects on the side, while others work full-time on Python development. But it doesn't matter. We all just like writing Python code, and that's what brings us together. Are you an experienced female Python developer? Or are you new and need help getting into Python development?

Wie Sie sicher sehen können mag ich Wallace und Gromit. Ich bin Software Entwickler und System Administrator und Python ist meine Lieblingssprache. Ich kann HTML/CSS/JS aber es ist definitiv nicht meine Lieblingsbeschäftigung. PHP Code schreibe ich auch. Und auch wenn ich PHP nicht besonders gerne mag, ist es dennoch eine nützliche Sprache. Aktuell versuche ich mich etwas in GoLang (ich vermisse aber Exceptions) und ich hasse Ruby und Perl. Dafür gefällt mir NodeJS auch.
Bash ist sehr nützlich und zugleich sehr hässlich.

Als Systemadministrator betreue ich Debian Server und habe eine starke Abneigung gegen Windows. Ich mag auch kein Mac OSX, auch wenn es immer noch besser ist als Windows.
Privat habe ich meistens Ubuntu auf meinen Rechnern.

In meiner Freizeit war ich früher gerne und oft Klettern. Heute bin ich aber hauptsächlich stolzer Vater eines grossartigen Mädchens. Ausserdem habe ich in den letzten Jahren leicht (sehr viel) zugenommen weshalb ich vermutlich so oder so nicht mehr so viel Klettern würde. Dennoch sind wir sehr gerne in den Bergen unterwegs, beim Wandern, Skifahren oder einfach beim Entspannen. Ausserdem liebe ich das Segeln in starkem (zumindest aus meiner Sicht, für Andere ist das vielleicht nur eine Brise) Wind. Ich liebe es in meiner kleinen Byte CII nass zu werden und dem Wind zu trotzen. Meine Segeleinheiten dauern meistens so 2 bis 3 Stunden was in etwa 400 Rumpfbeugen entspricht ;-)
Meine Fähigkeiten sind vermutlich noch weit unten angesiedelt, nichts desto trotz habe ich jede Menge Spass dabei.

PyLadies Berlin is a chapter of the international PyLadies community, a group of girls and women coding in this lovely city. We are eager to develop and advance our knowlegde in the world of programming and you are invited to learn with us!

Well, as you can see I like wallace and gromit. I work as a software developer/system engineer and like python most. I am able to write html/css/js but it's defenitely not my favorite. Then I am also able to write php code. Ehm, even if I don't like it very much, it's still usefull here and there. Trying to get warm with golang (dislike absence of exceptions) and hater of ruby/perl. NodeJS is cool as well.
Bash is very useful but ugly as hell.

As a sysadmin I manage debian servers and I have a strong aversion against windows. I don't like OSX either but still, it's less of a pain than windows. Also on my private machines, i prefer Ubuntu.

Then in my spare time, i used to climb alot. But nowadays, I am a proud father of a great little girl as my main activity and since I gained some (alot of) weight in the past few years, I probably would'nt climb that much anyway. Still, we are in the mountains quite alot, hiking, skiing or just relaxing. Then I love to sail in strong (from my point of view, might not be that strong for others) winds. Just love getting wet in my small Byte CII from Nautivela. My sailing sessions are around 2 or maybe 3 hours, which is equal to 400 situps usually ;-)
My skills are probably still on the low side but nevertheless I have a hell of fun doing it.
