What's Changed

  • Updates the datapack to support 1.21 (though, note, not 1.20.5/6)
  • Combines the latest and "legacy" datapack using overlays (that is, the release below will work with all supported Minecraft versions)

Note that there are no changes to the resource packs (but they are included below for convenience)

Resourcepack Changes

  • The hermit egg models from iJevin's 2022 Hermitcraft Easter Egg Hunt have been added to the Chappeau Resourcepack, both as carved pumpkin variants as well as variants of, well, eggs (making them throwable!)

Datapack Changes

  • Eggs are now "3D printable"
  • Releases will now include both a datapack validated for 1.20.3+ and a "legacy" version that works with 1.20.1-

What's in a Name?

Turns out, quite a lot.

Due to changes in pack formats, several of the existing packs will no longer function on 1.20.4. Additionally, that update entirely broke the datapack "printing" functionality thanks to how custom names are stored in block and item NBT.

See: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-267451

In addition to adding 1.20.4 support, this release:

  • restores 3D printing and brewing functionality to the datapack (both old and new blocks and "gcode" paper will work).
  • allows you to generate Totems of Iskall using paper named iskall.gcode
  • results in an ender pearl being called an "Ender Pearl" when using both the Moonescent Pearl and "Chappeau" datapack, so long as "Chappeau" is higher in priority
  • Accounts for the name change of the "grass" block (not to be confused with the "grass block" block) to "short grass"

  • Bugfix! 3D printers will no longer print to adjacent beds (#12)
  • Turn stone and iron swords into sewing needles (#9) -- if you're not a knitter or have never been stabbed by one, trust me, they're sharp
  • Updates the name of "Scarlet Pearl" to "5am Pearl"

I... don't think that pun worked.

The headliner of this release is a folder structure re-org that allows the resource packs to work with 1.19.3 (see: #6 / #7).

This release also adds a (3D printable, wearable) Jameson-type Cyborg (#8). See the updated README for instructions on how to obtain.

Space space wanna go to space

This release replaces the model of the Space Core and Fact Sphere (that was itself converted from a generic 3D model and thus had super high voxel count) with one I designed from scratch.

Nothing else changed vs. the last release, so feel free to keep using the datapack from (::checks log::) yesterday.

New in this Version

  • Steamier Steam Deck model (3D design is still my passion, but this does look at least a little truer to form)
  • Ghast Legs to go with Ghast Heads (a la the More Mob Heads datapack)
  • Fixed missing "espresso" item texture

This release finally makes all custom items available in Survival mode. For the non-coffees, all you need to do is get yourself a 3D printer.

  1. Get a hopper and a glow item frame.
  2. Use an anvil to rename the hopper "Enderman 3 Pro," then place it somewhere and put the heated bed glow item frame directly below the hopper, facing up.
  3. Get a base item (the one listed in the README that the custom item will replace) and a piece of paper
  4. Rename the piece of paper a filename corresponding to the desired custom entity (e.g. moonescent_pearl.gocde)
  5. Place the base item in the hopper's first slot and the "gcode" in the second slot
  6. The base item will then be consumed, and you'll find your custom item placed in the glowing frame beneath

This release also replaces the Steam Deck model with one crafted by hand in Blockbench that won't cause lag, as it's not composed of, like, 40,000 voxels like the original (converted from blender) one was. So now if you have the console from Valve, you can play Minecraft on a Steam Deck in Minecraft on a Steam Deck.

Also, at the request of my partner who was getting intensely nauseated wearing carved pumpkins, this release includes a stand-alone resource pack that removes the first-person carved pumpkin overlay.
