This fork is maintained by a group of unpaid volunteers without any corporate backing. It came to live a few months after the sudden shutdown of RoboVM on April 15th 2016.
The initial creators (MobiDevelop, Xoppa & Tom-Ski) all came from the libGDX project which relies on RoboVM for one of it's iOS backends. Since then quite some external contributors joined in and helped to move the project forward.
