Fixes error spam from the Formatter class.
Also changes the static checks back to check the full repo, like aaronfranke did initially. Seems safer, since I occasionally do commits without a PR, like to tweak README or because I forgot to make a branch before committing. And right now, it's only an extra 3 seconds.
