Proverb Teleprompter

Proverb Teleprompter instructions

1.Go to http://proverbteleprompter.codeplex.com/

2.Click the download link

3.It should now start the install

a.If it doesn’t , click the “here” link

4.You will be prompted with a security warning message, it is generally a good idea to heed these warnings, but in this case, since you know the publisher, it is ok.

5.Click install

6.The application will start

a.An application icon will be installed on the desktop of the current user

b.The running application should start up looking like this:

c.The Green and black tool window should be moved to the bottom of the screen

Document editing

7.Click the “Load Document” button

a.Find where you saved the RTF version of the script, and open it

8.Once you have opened the script, you will want to adjust the fontsize, line height and scroll speed (this varies depending on talent distance, monitor size, and the talent’s eyesight.

a.The settings are automatically saved every time anything changes.

b.You will likely have to modify the script while it is open in the teleprompter

c.There are two methods for editing on the fly: inline or WordPad

d.Use inline editing for quick, simple edits.

i.Click the “Edit Inline” checkbox to enter inline editing mode

ii.Scrolling will pause while in this mode

iii.Click the “Edit in WordPad” button to use WordPad for editing.

iv.WordPad is great for search and replace or other complex editing tasks

v.Any changes saved while in WordPad will update the Teleprompter in real-time.

e.Use “Edit in WordPad” for more complex edits

Talent Window

9.The Talent Window displays the exact content that the main window displays.

10.The Proverb Teleprompter works best when you have a secondary monitor connected (VGA, HDMI, DVI etc.)

a.This allows you to have a clean output window for the talent without any other distracting windows

11.The talent window can be displayed by clicking on the “Show talent window” button

12.The talent window will be displayed on whichever display is selected in the “Monitor for Talent Window” drop down (\.\DISPLAY1 would be your main display, \.\DISPLAY2 would likely be the monitor/projector you want to show to the talent)

13.Check the “Full screen talent Window” to make the talent window the full size of the specified display

14.The various “Flip” check boxes are only needed if you are using a mirrored teleprompter device, so you will not need to worry about these.

15.The “Receive Global Keystrokes” check box tell the teleprompter to listen to key command regardless of which application has focus

a.this can cause unexpected behavior if you use hotkeys in another program

b.For instance, if you hit the down arrow key it would cause the scroll rate to speed up etc.

16.Double clicking on the main script window or talent window will toggle them between full screen and normal sizing

17.The talent window can be dragged by the mouse when it is not set to full screen

18.The main window can be dragged by the mouse when it is not set to full screen

19.The tools window is always on top of all applications.

a.It can be minimized like any other window to move it out of the way
