The story behind my username

You might be wondering about my GitHub username, MR-Addict. Haha, here’s the story behind it.

When I first got into university, the seniors in STAS — a club I joined and contributed to in next four years, introduced us to GitHub and told us to create an account. Back then, I knew nothing about coding or open source, and I had to come up with an English username. So, I based mine on my high school class monitor, 晓雨 (Xiaoyu), who had a big influence on me. Her name can be translated into "morning rain" in english and I shortened it to MR. Thus, my username just means a fan to Xiaoyu. Similar to @dingyang666, one of those seniors who taught us about GitHub — reflects his respect(666, one of chinese internet slangs) for 丁洋 (Ding Yang).

Looking back, those years flew by — three years of high school, four years of university. Now, I guess I’m supposed to be a mature adult? Maybe I am, maybe I’m not. Good things will be better when you put it longer util you reveal it.

But life is about moving forward. I’m still figuring things out, finding new ways of life. So, I wanna spend more time with the one I love and been loved. That’s what really matters.
