This guide helps check if an intended upgrade to the PriceBulletin.sol contract will break storage. It uses Openzeppelin upgrades-core tool. Refer to documentation.
- Create the new intended version of the PriceBulletin contract with a versioned name. For example:
PriceBulletinV2.sol - Add the Natspec annotation reference to the contract. See example below:

}- Format contracts and compile both with Hardhat and Foundry.
forge fmt && npx hardhat compile && forge compile
- Last run command (replace with the name of the versioned contract you created):
npx @openzeppelin/upgrades-core validate artifacts/build-info --contract PriceBulletinV2
- Once you have confirmed the changes are upgrade safe, replace the original PriceBulletin.sol contract with your changes and delete the versioned named contract.
