This is changing a string that explains what the module is to one that is opaque and doesn't mean anything to the user. I'm not seeing why we'd do this.
The abstract should serve to describe what the mod is. The name is too similar to "Environmental Visual Enhancements Redux" and it's so long that you often can't even see the end of the name. People end up installing it by mistake and then are confused about why they can't install AVP or another config. Or get confused about which one to install because they think they are peers. In reality, BoulderCo is a peer to Spectra, AVP, etc. Since a search for "environmental visual enhancements" would still turn up the identifier, and installing either one would do the right thing (boulderco installs eve redux as a dependency, and installing eve redux alone would recommend a config pack). |
Interesting, that user found the current name clear once they read the whole thing. |
@JonnyOThan, what if we just shorten "Environmental Visual Enhancements" to "EVE" so the rest can be seen more easily? EVE - Stock Planet Config files |
Would certainly help I think |

Alright, let's try this.
How about adding "aka BoulderCo" or something in the abstract? In any case this is certainly an improvement.
Well, the real question is whether the name change would prevent them from installing "EVE - Stock Planet Config files" if they really want AVP etc. |
