@Siedlerchr Siedlerchr changed the title add first draft First draft for blog post for release of alpha 3 Oct 30, 2025
Siedlerchr and others added 3 commits October 30, 2025 22:07
Updated release notes for JabRef 6.0-alpha.3 to include additional details and contributors' projects.
As always, since this is an alpha release, we strongly recommend making a backup of your .bib files before updating.

## GSoC
Two of our contributors, [Wanling](https://github.com/wanling0000) and [Yubo](https://github.com/Yubo-Cao) have already finished their projects ([Git support](https://github.com/JabRef/jabref/wiki/GSoC-2025-%E2%80%90-Git-Support-for-JabRef) and [Walkthrough/Welcome Tab](https://github.com/JabRef/jabref/wiki/GSoC-2025-%E2%80%90-Walkthrough-and-Welcome-Tab)) and we are very proud to present their work in this release. [Philip](https://github.com/palukku) is already on the finish line and you can already test his [Cite-As-You-Write](https://blog.jabref.org/2025/07/25/cayw-endpoint/) feature.

Maybe we can add something about LSP?

As teaser? I would not hang it too high yet -- think, it will get much attraction when we really mention it 😅

maybe as a teaser - just a mention of LSP feature preview (as at the end it is an alpha), and a mention that a separate article on it will be published in coming weeks

Be aware that currently the [update notification is broken](https://github.com/JabRef/jabref/issues/13000). It will inform you that a new version of JabRef is available, even though you have downloaded the latest release. Just ignore the notification.

"donors"? Or donators? Or on English is right to use "donors"?

Okay, in my mother tongues we typically associate donors with either blood donors or organ donors 😅

Same here, patrons/sponsors are better words for this - but sponsors are generally organizations or funding bodies, and patrons are individuals
