Welcome to the ITHIM-R wiki!

What is ITHIM-R?

ITHIM-R is a concerted effort to harmonize various versions of the Integrated Transport and Health Impact Modelling Tool (ITHIM) based on a common R-code platform. As part of this effort, the goals are to

  1. to update several key methods
  2. to make ITHIM more userfriendly
  3. to make ITHIM more flexible and modular by moving to an R-based code, so it can be combined with other tools/models, and organically expanded.

Project organization

The project will distinguish 3 main phases. For detailed information, follow links to sub-pages.

1. Phase: Concept, methods and structure
In phase 1 we will develop a detailed tool architecture, which consists of

  • identify existing tools/modules and features and harmonize their intersections
  • identify objectives for new features
  • organize tool features along a master-flow chart
  • harmonize terminology
  • identify, define overall methods, and methodological details to the extent possible
  • identify issue that well need to be addressed down the line

2. Phase: R-coding
In phase 2 we will:

  • develop the R-code for the tool
  • possibly develop shiny user interface features
  • implement the model, i.e. populate the model with actual data, for a number of case study cities/regions

3. Phase: Outlook
Phase 3 is our "organizational" catch-all bin for features and issues that will not be addressed as part of P1 and P2, such as by mid 2018.

Project team
