It would be much more useful to sort showcase entries by the date they were added than to sort them alphabetically. For this, a date field would have to be added to the metadata.

I guess this issue with this is that there are showcase entries with larger thumbnails than others and if all the showcase entries were to be sorted by date, then the design of the page could look a bit funky 🤔

the larger thumbnails should always go on top, these are the prestige games that go down in flixel history, the smaller showcase games should be sorted by date

hijacking this issue to make it the "everything that's wrong with showcases" issue

  • sort by date in the lower grid
  • fix odd alignment with the top 4 games
  • remove games that no longer have any working links
  • remove "target" links and just list places to play or buy the game
    • Add Itch svg, maybe newgrounds/armorgames and other web portals?
    • Hide all unused icons
    • Remove Windows/Linux/Mac links unless they are specificly links to the Microsoft store or app store

PR #215 fixes

  • remove games that no longer have any working links

itch svg is already in along with newgrounds
I could also go about and remove the windows/linux/mac links too. I think by now most are a direct link to steam/itch

however my 2cents is that i feel like SOMEWHERE there should can be platform information. I feel like part of the haxe allure is crossplatform with one codebase, so showing all the platforms that a game is available I think is good to show off too!
