This module was created for the Place, Evolution and Rock Art Heritage Unit (PERAHU), based at Griffith University, Brisbane Australia. The module has been designed to demonstrate FAIMS feasibility to record and monitor the aboriginal rock-art in the field across Australia. The aim of the project is to document, protect and cultural heritage, as well as raise the national and international public awareness of the importance of the Australian rock art and human evolution.

Authorship:

This module was co-developed by Fiona McKeague at PERAHU and Petra Janouchova and Robert Haubt at the FAIMS Project, Department of Ancient History, Macquarie University.

Funding:

Development of this module was funded by the Research Attraction and Acceleration Program (RAAP) NSW Department of Industry 16805/00 aimed to support innovation and investment in the New South Wales in 2016 and 2017.

This module can be downloaded directly from this GitHub repository.

This module contains the following FAIMS features:

  • coordinates from internal GPS
  • hierarchical dropdowns
  • controlled vocabularies
  • photo capture on device
  • (map feature was not fully implemented - demo version)

This module can be used with no or minor modification for:

  • site recording and documentation of cultural heritage
  • site revisits
