Fix crash after selecting a group on the search page

Explanation of Change

This change prevents the Expenses page from getting stuck in a crash loop when selecting merchant groups.

At a product level, the problem was that the page kept re-saving the same selection state over and over, which triggered repeated rerenders until React stopped with Maximum update depth exceeded. The fix adds a guard so we only update selection state when something actually changed. If the rebuilt selection is identical to the current one, we now skip the update.

Tests

5. Open the Display dropdown → Group by → select Merchant
6. Expand a group
7. Click the group checkbox to select the entire group
8. Verify that the app should not crash, and the group should be selected.
