COMAP 2025

This is the repository containing all the code for my team's entry to the 2025 mathematical modeling competition.

We worked on problem A regarding informing archaeologists about stair usage patterns using only non-destructive methods. Check out the problem here.

This project empirically estimates a Gaussian mixture model based on 3D photogrammetric measurements of the stairs; based on properties of these distributions (e.g., mean vectors and covariance matrices of the individual Gaussians), we are able to back out information about the stairs such as their age and usage patterns.
