Create tappable screen zones to open apps, trigger 100+ quick actions, and automate tasks with your favorite automation apps.
- Create up to 4 custom tap zones anywhere on your screen
- 5 gestures: single tap, double tap, triple tap, long press and Swipe gesture
- Assign a different app, action, or app shortcut to each gesture
- Send a short notification (for ex:
Zone 1 - Double tap) that automation apps like Automate, MacroDroid, and Tasker can use as a trigger - Use all tap zones independently
- Start automatically when the device boots
- Works completely offline
- No ads, trackers, or analytics
- Completely free & open source

Tapbar is designed to be simple and private.
- No ads, trackers & analytics
- No internet connection required
- Your settings stay on your device
Tapbar does not need your data to provide its main function.
It started with a simple Android feature request: tap the clock in the status bar to open the Clock app.
Tapbar takes that further. Create tappable areas anywhere on your screen and assign different actions to single tap, double tap, triple tap, long press, and swipe.

Since Tapbar isn't published on the Play Store, Android may block or flag it when installing. If that happens, expand the relevant fix below.
1. Play Protect blocks the install
Play Protect may flag Tapbar since it uses Accessibility and Overlay permissions to work. To install anyway:
- Open the Play Store, tap your profile icon (top right)
- Tap Play Protect, then tap the Settings gear icon
- Turn off Scan apps with Play Protect and Improve harmful app detection
- Install Tapbar, then you can turn these back on
2. "Restricted setting" when enabling permissions
Newer Android versions block permission toggles for sideloaded apps by default. To fix this:
- Go to App info
- Tap the three-dot menu (top right) and select Allow restricted settings
- Then enable the required Accessibility and Overlay permissions from Tapbar's settings screen
Once these are set, Tapbar should install and run without issues.
