Co-authored-by: Copilot <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com> * Preserve coroutine introspection when marking async functions experimental The experimental decorator wrapped every function -- including coroutine functions -- with a plain def, which made inspect.iscoroutinefunction / asyncio.iscoroutinefunction return False for flush_spans_async even though calling it still returns a coroutine. Add an async def wrapper path for coroutine functions so the public async API stays introspectable as async, with a regression test. Co-authored-by: Copilot <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com> * Fix partial passthrough and duplicate experimental warnings - Restrict the new async-function branch in experimental() to actual function objects (inspect.isfunction), not any coroutine-function-like callable such as functools.partial, which lacks __qualname__ and would raise AttributeError on first await. Non-function callables continue to pass through unchanged as before. - Route schedule_flush_spans's internal background flush through an undecorated _flush_spans_async_impl instead of the separately-decorated public flush_spans_async, so calling schedule_flush_spans no longer emits two distinct experimental warnings (one per differently cached function). Both public entry points remain decorated. - Add regression tests for both fixes. Co-authored-by: Copilot <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com> * Fix flaky experimental-warning regression test logger scope The new test scoped caplog.at_level to azure.ai.agentserver.core._tracing, but the experimental warning is emitted via _experimental.module_logger (azure.ai.agentserver.core._experimental). Scoping the wrong logger left the emitting logger's effective level dependent on whatever an earlier test in the same process had set on the root logger, causing the assertion to intermittently see zero captured warnings on macOS/Windows CI runners. Scope to the correct logger, matching the pattern used by the existing experimental decorator tests. Co-authored-by: Copilot <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com> * Rework duplicate experimental-warning fix to be decorator-only Revert the _flush_spans_async_impl extraction in _tracing.py so flush_spans_async and schedule_flush_spans keep their original method bodies unchanged; @experimental is the only modification to those functions. Instead, suppress duplicate/nested experimental warnings entirely inside the @experimental decorator via a new _experimental_call_active ContextVar, mirroring the existing _experimental_init_active pattern used for nested __init__ calls. Since asyncio.Task copies the current context at creation time, this also correctly suppresses the warning for flush_spans_async when it runs inside the task spawned by schedule_flush_spans -> _coalesced_flush. Add regression tests in test_experimental.py covering nested sync calls, nested async calls, and calls inside a spawned asyncio task. Co-authored-by: Copilot <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com> * Limit experimental change to decorator only Revert all package implementation changes in _tracing.py beyond the two @experimental decorators. The duplicate-warning suppression is dropped: the ContextVar guard leaked into spawned asyncio tasks, and the undecorated-impl split required restructuring package code. _experimental.py keeps async coroutine-function support so that @experimental on `async def` preserves inspect/asyncio.iscoroutinefunction. Co-authored-by: Copilot <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com> * Fix mypy return type for async experimental wrapper _add_async_function_docstring returns a coroutine function, so annotate it as Callable[P, Coroutine[Any, Any, T]] rather than Callable[P, T]. This drops the now-unnecessary type: ignore on the await. That makes Get-PackageApprovalStatus.ps1 treat the already-published 1.0.0b3 as a release candidate and enforce the API review release gate against it, which fails with packageNamePending because the package name has not been approved in APIView. This broke every internal `python - agentserver` build on main (builds 6873688, 6875590, 6873686, 6873121, 6872395 all failed the same "Check Package Approval Status" task), blocking the Build stage for all five agentserver artifacts. Bump to 1.0.0b4 (Unreleased) so the approval check is skipped for an unreleased package, matching the automated increment in 2a00787ba1. Note: this unblocks CI only. The package name azure-ai-agentserver-activity still needs APIView approval before the next release can ship. The glob matched 0 of 4 files, the task reported success signing nothing, and repackage reinserted unsigned .pyd. Mac was unaffected because it zips the payload dir and signs the zip. Change WinPattern to '**/*.pyd' so ESRP recurses into the subfolders, matching the mac path's recursive behavior. Make it a per-artifact opt-in instead. An artifact sets `signBinaries: true` in its service ci.yml and gets a dedicated Sign_<safeName> stage plus a Release_<safeName> stage fed from the resulting packages_<safeName>_signed artifact. Every other artifact keeps releasing from packages_extended off the build stage exactly as before, so a service can mix both kinds of packages. The signed artifact mirrors the layout of packages_extended, so the release jobs work against it unchanged. To keep those jobs single-sourced they move verbatim into release-artifact.yml, which parameterizes only the artifact name and the upstream stage. packages_extended itself is untouched. Signing runs on release and scheduled builds and never on PR builds: the public project cannot reach internal/azure-sdk-build-tools, and ESRP must not be handed unreviewed code. Scheduled runs are included because the Integration stage now publishes signed alpha packages to the dev feed for opted-in artifacts. The signing stage deliberately ignores Skip.Release and SetDevVersion. Those belong on the consumers, which already carry them; checking them here would propagate through Integration's dependency and silently break the nightly and manual dev version alpha publishes. Co-authored-by: Copilot <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com> Copilot-Session: 9079636e-8478-4697-ae82-538136cd41b5 * Surface skipped alpha publishes and pin the signing run reasons Testing the scheduled path directly, rather than simulating it with a queue-time SetDevVersion, showed the signing condition was only ever being satisfied by its 'Manual' term. Two gaps that hid behind that: The 'Schedule' term is coupled to daily-dev-build-variable.yml, which sets SetDevVersion only when Build.Reason is exactly 'Schedule'. Alpha wheels exist only when that is true, so the two must widen together. Record that, along with why the reasons left out of the list need no signing. A missing signed artifact skips one package's alpha publish by design, so a signing failure cannot take down the dev feed publish for a whole service. Raise it as a build issue rather than Write-Warning so that degradation shows up in the run summary instead of only in the task log. Resolve it from the artifact property instead, which Save-Package-Properties already copies into each package info file as ArtifactDetails. Co-authored-by: Copilot <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com> Copilot-Session: 9079636e-8478-4697-ae82-538136cd41b5 * Add azure-template-two binary package for release validation Adds a minimal C extension package so the template service exercises both kinds of release artifact: azure-template stays pure Python and unsigned, while azure-template-two ships platform wheels routed through signing via the signBinaries artifact property. The extension exposes a single is_true() function and is compiled against the limited API, so one cp310 abi3 wheel per platform covers 3.10+. cibuildwheel is configured for x86_64 Linux, x86_64 Windows and arm64 macOS. A single artifact service still compiled, but any service with two or more artifacts failed with a duplicate stage name. The same spelling was also used to look up the auto-release output variable. Add round-trip unit tests for the wheel signing extract/repackage scripts, covering multiple wheels, duplicate binary basenames, platform-specific suffix selection, and rebuilt RECORD hash/size correctness. Co-authored-by: Copilot App <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com> * Revert invalid conditional on azure-sdk-build-tools repository resource Azure Pipelines does not permit template expressions to conditionally include/exclude entries under resources.repositories (only to parameterize values like ref within an unconditionally-declared entry). Restore the unconditional declaration; the resource declaration alone does not force a checkout for jobs that never reference it. Co-authored-by: Copilot App <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com> * Handle scoped binary signing releases Skip signing and release stages when the filtered build output does not contain the signed artifact, normalize the Key Vault safeName property, and date the template fixture changelog for release validation. Co-authored-by: Copilot App <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com> * apistub: prefer Linux wheel when multiple platform wheels are present Build_Extended runs on a Linux agent and downloads Windows/macOS/Linux platform wheels for signed-binary packages into the same staging dir. apistub's wheel lookup previously relied solely on find_whl's interpreter-tag matching, which fails and exits when multiple platform wheels exist and none match the invoking interpreter's tags exactly. Only the Linux wheel is actually installable on the Linux agent, so deterministically select it when multiple platform-specific wheels are found for the same package/version, falling back to find_whl's existing lookup when there is a single candidate or no Linux wheel among them. Co-authored-by: Copilot App <223556219+Copilot@users.noreply.github.com> * Add signing verification: no-op guard and post-sign smoke tests - repackage_signed_wheels.py: raise if a 'signed' binary is byte-identical to its unsigned input, catching silent ESRP no-ops before they reach the released wheel. - smoke_test_signed_wheel.py: new script that installs a signed wheel and imports every compiled extension module it ships, generically discovered via importlib.metadata rather than hardcoded per-package paths. Skips vendored native dependency libraries (delocate .dylibs/, auditwheel .libs/) that are signable but not importable, and maps a compiled __init__ extension to its parent package. - sign-binaries.yml: add Smoke_macOS and Smoke_Windows jobs inside each Sign_<safeName> stage, running the smoke script on the real target OS against the actual signed wheel artifact. These are the only jobs in the pipeline that install/import a signed binary; a failure here fails the Sign_<safeName> stage and therefore blocks Release_<safeName>. Conversation-level multi-turn evaluators (e.g. retrieval) aggregate per-turn results, producing a flattened per-turn breakdown column such as `outputs.retrieval.evaluation_per_turn.retrieval_total_tokens = [t1, t2]`. That key ends with `_total_tokens`, so it was misclassified and written -- as a list -- into the scalar `sample.usage.total_tokens` slot, double-writing over the real top-level scalar and crashing the whole run with `TypeError: float() argument must be a string or a real number, not 'list'` (surfaced as a SystemError, no results). Fix at the root: skip `evaluation_per_turn` / `evaluation_per_turn.*` keys in _extract_metric_values so per-turn breakdown columns are never suffix-routed into scalar `sample.usage.*` (or score/label/etc.) fields. The scalar `sample.usage.*` values continue to come from the genuine top-level scalar columns, and the per-turn breakdown is still surfaced to callers via the row-level results DataFrame. No error-swallowing coercion is introduced; a real list reaching a scalar token branch would still fail loudly, as it should. Adds TestEvaluationPerTurnNotRoutedToScalar covering: per-turn token list dropped from usage, scalar wins regardless of column order, prompt/completion per-turn skipped, per-turn score not clobbering the scalar score, and per-turn-only input producing no spurious scalar.
