Hi, I’m Aryan. I’m a Computer Science student at UVA and an incoming Software Development Engineer (SDE) Intern at AWS. I specialize in distributed backend systems, cloud infrastructure, and building scalable applications that solve real problems for users.
On my GitHub, you’ll find a mix of cloud architecture, high-concurrency microservices, and machine learning pipelines. Some of my most impactful engineering work includes CourseCompass, a full-stack intelligence engine and chrome extension that serves the UVA community utilizing a high-concurrency Spring Boot API, and a modular AWS Landing Zone built entirely with Terraform and automated CI/CD guardrails. I've also built a Distributed Food Ordering System using Java, Kafka, and Docker with Domain-Driven Design.
Beyond distributed systems, I have a strong background in data and AI. I engineered an HPC-Accelerated Weather Classification Pipeline using PyTorch and Rivanna HPC, leveraging Explainable AI (Grad-CAM) to validate model inferences. I’m always exploring new technologies and enjoy bridging the gap between complex backend architecture and seamless user experiences. Thanks for checking out my work!
coursecompass
A full-stack distributed system and Manifest V3 Chrome Extension built with Java, Spring Boot, React, and PostgreSQL. Engineered a high-concurrency API to eliminate information asymmetry for 25,000+ UVA students, deployed via Docker.
aws-landing-zone A modular AWS Landing Zone built with Terraform. Designed with VPC/IAM/CloudTrail guardrails, automated CI for security scans, and Terratest implementation for plan-only validation.
extreme-weather-classification An HPC-accelerated computer vision pipeline utilizing PyTorch and OpenCV. Compares CNN architectures (EfficientNetV2/MobileNetV2) to detect catastrophic weather events, using Grad-CAM for Explainable AI.
food-ordering-system A backend microservices architecture built with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Docker, and PostgreSQL. Simulates a full food delivery ecosystem using the Outbox Pattern for reliable event-driven messaging.
course-picker A React and Tailwind web application deployed via AWS S3 and CloudFront that helps UVA students optimize their course schedules. Features custom conflict-checking and robust data pipelines built with Python and Pandas.
SlackLite A real-time messaging app deployed with React, FastAPI, MongoDB, and AWS S3 for secure file uploads. Built for low-latency communication utilizing WebSockets.
