1.15 comes with a few demanded features from EarthMC community and some tweaks. Besides that, a major breakthrough happened in recent weeks. I finally broke down and published my extension on Chrome Web Store, a trusted source of extensions for all Chromium browsers (Chrome, Opera, Microsoft Edge, Brave and more to count). It also means that if you installed my extension, it will update AUTOMATICALLY!

What's been changed

  • Added option to decrease map's brightness
  • Added chunks layer
  • Nations which are part of more than one alliance have a thin outline
  • Improvements to player lookup
  • Fill color of ruins changed to black (for meganations mode)
  • A few fixes

What's been changed:

1.14 Squaremap update

This major release comes with a huge multitude of changes. Due to the new EarthMC reality, required changes have been done. Whole code has been rewritten from scratch, with plenty of optimizations and much less code clutter. The overall extension's look has been rebranded. Because of the new map's limitations, clickable player nameplates and condominiums could not be added back.

  • Players can be looked up in town popups
  • The map legend has been removed
  • endpoints.json are no more (that was BS)
  • Condominiums have no outline
  • These bugs of default map have been fixed: (they can go deprecated soon)
    • Big capital stars
    • Player nameplates appear over town popups
  • The map has been darkened to improve visibility
  • Town and nation searching is trimming the input
  • Camera starts on Europe at maximum zoom out
  • Player heads are shown
  • Town size is calculated correctly
  • Town information is optimized to satisfy the user
  • Selected map mode is persistent and doesn't reset to meganations after session closing

This is a release candidate for version 1.13. There are still some issues with archives, which will be fixed in the next release. Being released right now to fix the basics of the extension. Full changelog will be announced in 1.13.

1.13 Dark userscript update

  • Dropped support for problematic Firefox in place of an Tampermonkey userscript
  • Overall code optimization (e.g. new .css file)
  • Fixed bugs from previous versions (archives, etc.)
    • If an archive is too big (happens on the latest Aurora archives) it will not be handled.
    • When opening Dynmap with extension for 1st time, you may need to refresh to load meganations. It's been since beginning of the add-on.
  • Dark mode (thanks @MrToirol)
  • Player lookup
    • Hovering usernames will highlight labels
    • Added a player's head (thanks @MrToirol)

1.12 Small big update

Reduced the repository size. Chromium and Gecko (Firefox) versions now share same content.js and main.js. Only things in separation are manifests due to compatibility.

  • optimized the source code
  • search for nations by name
  • click Return (Enter) to search
  • clickable player labels to show information
  • added the third map mode; default
  • fixed linking to the wiki
  • other things I forgot to mention

1.11 Colorful update

This release completely remakes the dynmap hopefully to make it more readable and more informative. Main element of the update were revamped colors, now as the following map legend shows:

  • Colors revamped
    • condominiums added; towns which are under two or more meganations/alliances
    • default neutral parties (nations in no meganation) will take a random fill color and a gray outline
    • premium n.parties will keep their original color and a lime outline
    • condominiums have magenta outline and checkered pattern of two colors
  • more unimportant tweaks

1.10 Quality of Life update

As the release name says, it's mainly QoL changes. Nothing very important, but

  • search towns by name
  • new, faster archive API for Chromium
  • a few esthetic aspects modified
