Getting Started

Get VaultAI running in your Obsidian vault in just a few minutes.

Step 1: Get API Key

1. Visit Google AI Studio
2. Sign in and click "Create API Key"
3. Copy your key

Step 2: Configure VaultAI

1. Open Obsidian Settings → Community Plugins → VaultAI
2. Paste your API key in the "Gemini API Key" field
3. Click Save

Step 3: Start Using

• Press Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+V to open chat
• Click the 📍 button to enable Insert Mode
• Try: "Summarize this note" or "Help me expand this idea"

Essential Commands

• Ctrl/Cmd+P → Search "VaultAI" for all commands
• Generate content at cursor - AI creates content at your cursor position
• Explain selected text - Get explanations of any selected content
• Custom prompts - Create reusable AI commands
